Fry-day recipe (weeks ago)
It was a Wednesday afternoon and I got nothing to do so I decided to scribble down on my notebook the recipe of Wicked Oreos and Deep fried ice cream. (feeling the vibe of being productive on a rest day) Much to my surprise as soon as I set foot on the grocery store, I realized I forgot my "listahan" (list of ingredients) needed for my Fry-day recipe. Good thing I have sharp memory and still remembered the things I wrote down (actually the ingredients were just simple lang naman HAHAHA)
Here you go my Fry-day recipe:
I. Deep Fried Ice Cream

2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon powder
3 egg whites
1/2 c. corn flakes crushed

1 quart vegetable oil

Ingredients :
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon powder
3 egg whites
1/2 c. corn flakes crushed
4 to 5 scoops of Ice cream (use ice cream scoop for your balls)
Directions:
- Prepare nice round scoops of the ice cream and place it in the freezer (preferably overnight)
- Mix the cornflakes, cinnamon and sugar together
- Roll the ice cream scoops till them are completely covered and refreeze for a couple of hours.
- Meanwhile, beat the egg white till they are stiff
- Roll the ice cream scoops in the egg batter and the rest of the cornflakes mixture and it is time to refreeze one more time. After this the cornflakes mixtures should cover the scoops really well.
- When you are ready to fry - Heat enough oil in a wok or Kadhai (not too hot) and fry the Ice Cream Scoops until they are slightly golden
- Place it in your plate and top it with some chocolate sauce and whipped cream.
- Serve Immediately
Kellogg's corn flakes
Its really thick and I had the hard time taking out the
ice cream from the ice cream scoop
The cinnamon powder added some kick to the deep fried ice cream.
II. Wicked Oreos
Ingredients:
- Freeze cookies for 3 hours.
- In a heavy-gauge 3-quart saucepot heat oil to 350 degrees F. While oil is heating, set up a sheetpan with paper towels for draining.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir water into buttermilk pancake mix with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. As soon as batter is smooth, dip each cookie, one at a time, into batter and smooth batter, making a thin coat completely around the cookie. Place coated cookie carefully into hot oil. Repeat for each cookie. Fry on both sides, turning over once until golden brown.
- Remove fried cookie from hot oil with metal tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners sugar.
- Let cool slightly (about 2 minutes) before serving.
Oreos are love
Easy 1,2,3 Pancake Mix
Mix until no more lumps
Totally wicked!
I prefer to regard a dessert as I would imagine the perfect woman: subtle, a little bittersweet, not blowsy and extrovert. Delicately made up, not highly rouged. Holding back, not exposing everything and, of course, with a flavor that lasts. ~Graham Kerr
