L.O.P (Long Overdue Post)

Honestly words cannot describe how happy i feel right now! :D

Yes these were the exact words I uttered (well even posted on my facebook account) when I found out I passed the Interior design board exam. As my sister commented "Para naman nanalo sa beauty contest. che!" Truth be told I actually did (somehow), except it's not a beauty contest per se.

After all the hardships of taking the most difficult and nerve-racking exam it has finally paid off. Three months of hibernating, social networking sites had to be in pending mode, had to miss get-togethers and worse no television in my dorm. (during weekdays but on weekends I find the time to catch up some tv watching maybe for about an "hour or less")_Not so me but I had to make few sacrifices in order to attain what I got right now.  Imagine how frustrating it was and my only form of entertainment was listening to FM radio,(Thanks to Magic 89.9 Boys Night Out and RX 93.1 Morning rush) Plus, phone calls at the end of the day from the Architect hahaha! which I always look forward to since it has kept me sane thus far at least.

I'm really grateful for the blessing I have received; really BLESSED beyond I deserve!!! Thank you God for your unconditional love, patience, mercy and forgiveness! And thank you for the people who supported me all the way. (Family and friends!!) Thank you to St. Jude and St. Joseph of Cupertino!! Prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino for Success in Examinations

Below are few images to sum up the hibernation period and its blissful aftermath:

Review Materials (with all those manila papers, multi-color pens, etc.)

1.) the Design GO portable kettle for my everyday cup of tea, 2.)Weekly rasyon ng pagkain hahaha 3).my mom would always label the tupper ware with my name on it hahaha! 4.) silvanas, mars, cookies and susan baker tea were given by the Architect and my bestfriend  Oath-taking  (with solemn affirmation)

Psalm 30:12 – “That my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks for ever.”

i've always kept it inside and never let it out. It was out of fear that I have decided to shut my mouth (truth be told reasons are just plain weird but it was something deep). And yes there were nights I would cry myself to sleep, sorting through the rubble of the i-don't-know-scenario (i will never disclose any information about it, let's just leave it at that) Though I still bring a big smile on my face and I'm trying to hide the sadness I feel inside. (nothing has changed).

If only "apathetic capsules"  are available at hand I'd buy more than 100 tablets. sigh...

On friends and enemies
I am displeased with the company of friends
To whom my bad qualities appear to be good;
They fancy my faults are virtues and perfection;
My thorns they believe to be rose and jessamine.
Say! where is the bold and quick enemy
To make me aware of my defects?
Sage advice
If people injure thee, grieve not;
Because neither rest nor grief come from the people.
Be aware that the contrasts of friend and foe are from God,
Because the hearts of both are in His keeping.
Although the arrow is shot from the bow,
Wise men look at the archer!
Oh thou! who showest virtues on the palms of the hand,
But concealest thy errors under the armpit,
What wilt thou purchase, oh vainglorious fool,
On the day of distress with counterfeit silver?

There are small number of things the universe has to offer us that gives humans a sense of peace and vibrancy to life. The sun itself does the trick and could be a source of motivation, if we'd only stop just for a moment to appreciate it. One could say its unparalleled magnificence is a big step towards the holy grail of relaxation. Months have passed and sunrise slowly replaced my yearning for sunset, as it gave me a remarkable vision reminding me of the things the new day will offer me.

Fry-day recipe (weeks ago)

It was a Wednesday afternoon and I got nothing to do so I decided to scribble down on my notebook the recipe of Wicked Oreos and Deep fried ice cream. (feeling the vibe of being productive on a rest day) Much to my surprise as soon as I set foot on the grocery store, I realized I forgot my "listahan" (list of ingredients) needed for my Fry-day recipe. Good thing I have sharp memory and still remembered the things I wrote down (actually the ingredients were just simple lang naman HAHAHA)

Here you go my Fry-day recipe:

I. Deep Fried Ice Cream

Ingredients :

2 tsp. sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon powder

3 egg whites

1/2  c. corn flakes crushed

4 to 5 scoops of Ice cream (use ice cream scoop for your balls)

For the love of cooking... but I'm not particularyly pertaining to myself. I have no cooking genes like my mom's. We know for a fact that it's a Catholic tradition not to eat meat on a Good Friday so  I'd like share two (2) Good Friday dish recipes from her (Bebi).

I. Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca

II. I don't know what to call this dish but let me see...

1. Chopped garlic (4 cloves)
2. Red onion (half )
3. White onion (half)
4. 3 pcs. chili pepper cut into strips
5. 1 tbsp. chili garlic sauce
6. 120 g hoisin sauce
7. A handful of Shiitake mushrooms
8. A handful of Wood ear mushroom (Tenga ng daga)
9. 1 pack Kimchi
10. 4 pcs. Large squids (cut into several pieces & cut the tentacles into 1 inch pcs.)
11. 3 bunches of Broccoli  cut into 1 1/2  inch florets

We have busy schedules and lined up meetings ahead of us. Been busy climbing the ladder of success_ and before we knew it few of us drifted away from the church and gradually forget about the Man Above. And I admit I'm one of the "few" people who unintentionally overlooked God's presence. Hence, I took the time last Maundy Thursday to strengthen my faith and make up for the lost time with God. Visited eight (8) churches from South to North and it was beyond doubt a peaceful away day.

And I end my post with a prayer:

The Winner Stands Alone : Chapter IV by Paulo Coelho
 (Toad & the hot water)

‘Do you know anything about frogs?’

‘Frogs?’

‘Yes, various biological studies have shown that if a frog is placed in a container along with water from its own pond, it will remain there, utterly still, while the water is slowly heated up. The frog doesn’t react to the gradual increase in temperature, to the changes in its environment, and when the water reaches boiling point, the frog dies, fat and happy.

‘On the other hand, if a frog is thrown into a container full of already boiling water, it will jump straight out again, scalded, but alive!’

Olivia doesn’t quite see what this has to do with the destruction of the world. Igor goes on:

‘I was like that boiled frog. I didn’t notice the changes. I thought everything was fine, that the bad things would just go away, that it was just a matter of time. I was ready to die because I lost the most important thing in my life but, instead of reacting, I sat there bobbing apathetically about in water that was getting hotter by the minute.’

---> Neither one of us wants to be the frog and to cure such thought do not let your emotions get in the way.

I like Adele's Make You Feel My Love but Arden Cho and Gerald Ko's version is way better. The limpidity and clarity of their singing voice is simply enthralling. And yes, last night while listening to the song, it suddenly put me into deep sleep.

here's the video:

Apparently nude became my second favorite color, I just don't know what got into me but I get so giddy everytime I see nude shades. Perhaps I find it soothing for the eyes maybe because of it's affinity to subdued colors of nature. And the hue doesn't need to exert too much effort to exude that elegance. (the color speaks for itself or should I say it's screaming understated classiness)  More nude colors to come and splashes of bright colors by June!! I'll bid farewell to black and white!!

I had a good view of the moon last night and I suddenly felt a sharp pang that I had never experienced before dipping down to my stomachs core. Not sure if it was pain or just my usual saltik moments. And it got me thinking, what if everything I have today was all surreal and in one snap I'll lose everything. I just could not understand why and how did things fall into place without any hurdles? It's not that I'm asking for it but I am scared. Yes I'm scared of what tomorrow will bring, 'cause who knows what will happen next.

I just don't want to reach the point that I will feel as the day progresses, a part of me is dying as well. Though as much as possible I'm trying my best to veer away from these thoughts.

God knows, everyday is a battlefield between me and my nonsensical thoughts. mmmm... this too shall pass Just please quiet my soul!
